Privacy policy

Scale Network GmbH

1. Scope and general principles

This privacy policy applies to the website www.scale-network.org and all its subpages, including the Scale Academy pages. Scale Network GmbH owns and operates this website and is the controller responsible for it under applicable data protection law.

A separate privacy policy (in German) applies to www.procurementjoker.ch and the Joker Compass platform.

Your trust and the protection of your privacy are important to us. We collect, process, use and store data exclusively in compliance with the applicable laws on data protection and data security. The Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) is authoritative. Where the General Data Protection Regulation of the European Union (GDPR) applies, we also comply with it.

Controller: Scale Network GmbH Solothurnstrasse 41A 3322 Urtenen-Schönbühl Switzerland Email: empower@scale-network.org

2. Data transmission over the internet

The internet is an open network and is not a secure environment. Although data is transmitted in encrypted form, it may be routed through other countries, including countries with a lower level of data protection than Switzerland. Scale Network accepts no liability for the security of data transmitted over the internet.

3. Collection of personal data

If you only read this website, we record the data your browser transmits automatically: pages accessed, IP address, browser used, language and version, and the date and time of access. This data serves the secure and stable operation of the website. We do not combine it with other data and do not create user profiles from it. We collect further data on the use of the website only if you consent to audience measurement (see section 6).

If you actively provide us with data, for example through a form, by email, with a callback request or with an enquiry about a Scale Academy course, we process the information you give us. This may include: name, company, email address, telephone number, preferred language and the content of your message. For course enquiries, information on education and professional experience is added, insofar as it is necessary to assess admission.

If you use a form on this website, we store your details in our database located in the EU (Ireland). We also store the time of your consent, the language of the page, the page from which you sent the form and, if present, the identifier of the campaign through which you reached us. We do not store your IP address together with your request. To protect against misuse, we keep a check value of your IP address (hash value) for no more than 24 hours and then delete it. You receive a confirmation by email. We delete requests no later than 24 months after they are closed, unless a contract is concluded or a statutory retention obligation applies.

All data is treated confidentially and stored only for as long as necessary to process your enquiry and to perform the contract and assignment. Statutory retention obligations remain reserved.

4. Use and processing of personal data

We use your data to provide, protect and improve this website, to answer your enquiries, to prepare and deliver consulting and course offerings, and to fulfil legal and contractual obligations. Address and contact data may be analysed for marketing and market research purposes, insofar as this is permitted by law.

5. Disclosure of personal data

To operate this website, we use carefully selected service providers: a provider for hosting and delivery, a provider for database and storage located in the EU (Ireland), and an email service. We will send you a current list on request. With your consent, we also use Google Analytics (see section 6).

The website is delivered through a worldwide network of servers. Technical data such as the IP address may therefore also be processed outside Switzerland and the EU, for example in the USA.

Otherwise, your personal data is not disclosed to third parties unless this is necessary to perform a contract or you have expressly consented. Disclosure on the basis of legal provisions, official orders or to protect legitimate interests remains reserved.

6. Cookies, browser storage and audience measurement

Technically necessary cookies and storage

This website uses only a few technically necessary cookies and entries in your browser's storage. They are needed for the secure operation and use of the website and are set without consent:

  • Protection against automated access: our hosting provider sets the cookie «__cf_bm». It distinguishes people from automated programs and expires after 30 minutes.
  • Delivery of the website: our hosting provider sets the cookie «__dpl». It ensures that you see the same version of the website during a visit and expires after about one day.
  • Scroll position: so that you return to the same place on the page when going back, the website saves the scroll position in your browser's session storage. The entry is deleted when you close the browser window.
  • Your choice on audience measurement: we store your decision in the cookie settings in your browser for 12 months, so that we do not ask you again on every visit.
  • Editorial area: the login to the protected editorial area is stored in the browser's storage. This only concerns signed-in staff.

Counting page views without cookies

Our hosting provider counts the page views of this website. This count works without cookies and without entries in your browser's storage. We receive aggregated figures from it, for example the number of visits per page.

Google Analytics, only with your consent

With your consent, we measure the use of this website with Google Analytics 4. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Without your consent, Google Analytics is not loaded and no data is transferred to Google.

Google Analytics sets the cookies «_ga» and «_ga_» with an identifier. They are stored for up to 13 months. Recorded data includes: pages visited, date and time, the source of the visit, approximate location, information about device and browser, and interactions such as scroll depth, clicks on buttons, clicks on links to other websites and the submission of a form, without its content. Google Analytics does not store individual IP addresses of visitors from Switzerland and the EU. User and event data is automatically deleted at Google after 2 months.

We use this data to understand how the website is used and to improve it. We do not use Google's advertising features and do not link the data with other Google services. The legal basis is your consent, where the GDPR applies under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.

Google may also process the data on servers in the USA. Google LLC is certified under the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

You can withdraw your consent at any time via the «Cookie settings» link in the footer of this website. Further information can be found in Google's privacy policy.

No advertising

We do not use advertising trackers and do not engage in behaviour-based marketing.

7. External links and embedded content

This website contains links to other websites, for example to www.procurementjoker.ch, to jokercompass.com, to LinkedIn and to the verification of certifications. If you follow such a link, the data protection provisions of the respective provider apply.

We load the fonts, images and videos of this website through our own hosting infrastructure. We do not embed content from social networks or video platforms.

8. Data security

Scale Network takes appropriate technical and organisational security measures: encrypted transmission, encrypted storage, role-based access, two-step sign-in for administrators, logging of all changes in the editorial area, and regular data backups.

9. Your rights

You have the right at any time to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, release or transfer of your data, and the right to object to certain processing. Where the GDPR applies, these rights derive from Articles 15 to 21 GDPR. Exercising them is free of charge. We respond within 30 days.

You can assert your rights by email to empower@scale-network.org or by post: Scale Network GmbH, c/o Jascha Krähenbühl, Solothurnstrasse 41A, 3322 Urtenen-Schönbühl, Switzerland.

If you do not agree with our data processing, you can contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or the competent supervisory authority in the EU.

10. Changes to this privacy policy

Scale Network reserves the right to adapt this privacy policy to legal requirements at any time. The current version on this website applies.
